Maw's Thoughts About Her Heritage!!

My Thoughts About My Heritage!!

I Am A Proud Cherokee Indian!!

What is my opinion of having designated blood quantum's versus having heritage enrollments?

Heritage enrollment gets away from a lot of political malice over whatever issue comes up. Prejudice is prejudice, no matter what turn it takes. Fear is the root of prejudice. Why should we fear our own children as to the opposite, why do we have love our own blood?
I believe that knowledge is certainty and the more we know, the more we can make informed decisions. I found information on a wide range of Tribal Websites and other web locations, from different professions and age groups. I am so surprised that there are so few resources and information available for the purpose of making a more informed decision about this issue.

Lowering the requirement of blood quantum has a lot of advantages, because it means a larger amount of financial support for the tribe from our own sources, since there will be more tribal members. I don’t think there is any disadvantages, because they are all our children!

We did not chose to be who we are; We are who we are because of our God; the last I checked we all have life because of one God..

As the Chief says: “ We all live under one sky, look at one moon, watch the same stars at night.“ Whether everyone believes it or not they believe in the same thing.” “Something Spiritual”

There is something greater than we are; what we chose to believe it is, should be our own choice and no other person should ridicule someone because of their way of life! Just because they think different than we, does not make them wrong. What a boring world this would be if we all looked the same, believed the same and did the very same thing everyday! It is the differences that makes each of us remarkable!

Thank you for reading my thoughts!
