Before During and After AIDS

A Mother's Love

Before During and After AIDS: A Mother’s Love and Memories

Written by Joan Nelson in memory of her son; King Lee Kleski

Joan Nelson in her very own personal story about her son wants to help other parents understand their gay children. Joan’s son King died with complications of the HIV/AIDS virus. She started writing to ease the pain of losing her son to the virus. She realized that through the memories of their special relationship he would be with her always. She also wanted to tell others about the fear, anger and discrimination that follow an HIV/AIDS diagnosis and living with HIV/AIDS.

Why do we continue to allow the discrimination and total disregard of other’s feelings while we sit by and act so nonchalant while the federal government puts budgetary concerns before our own nation’s welfare? All people need to know that AIDS is not just a “gay disease”, it is a disease of all people, and AIDS does not discriminate!

Power of Knowledge; A Mother’s Love After AIDS
Current mood: anxious

My name is Joan Thomas Nelson Author of~~

Before During and After AIDS/A Mother's Love and Memories.

I am a 65 year young women. A mother, I love all my children and grandchildren with all my heart. I wrote a book about my wonderful son. This is the reason for this website.

Roddy Williams, Director of Operations, The NAMES Project Foundation. Has contacted me and advised me that he is sending a representative of the AIDS Quilt Foundation, to attend a book signing event with me, October 21 and 22 at the Gulf View Square Mall, (Waldenbooks Store). He will bring a 12X12 foot section of the Quilt to display if the Mall can find enough space for the display. I will also be presenting the Quilt Panel I have made to represent my son to be added to the Quilt.

Thank You, Publish America for the opportunity to be able to honor my son in this way by publishing the book for me.

Sincerely,

Just Joan Thomas Nelson
