Lori's Memories
Lori’s story about King
His sister, Lori, told me a story about when she was trying to decide what to do about her education. Lori always loved animals, and she was considering working in a veterinarian clinic. In the meantime to help out with household expenses, Lori had started to breed golden retrievers. Her dog, Angel, had a litter of ten puppies just before King got really sick and went into the hospital. Lori had been worried about King and hadn’t spent much time trying to sell the ten puppies. One day while she was visiting with King in the hospital she was worried about getting stuck with all the puppies, but she had not mentioned anything to Kingabout it. She did not think he would really care because he was so sick. But as they were talking, all of a sudden he just right out of the blue said to her, "Lori, put them in the newspaper." She looked at himand said, "What are you talking about?" King said, "Put the puppies in the newspaper." She said that it was so shocking that it didn’t really register right at the moment. Lori went home and talked with her husband.
They decided since it was so bizarre that they would take King’s advice and advertise in the paper, they sold ll ten puppies. He just kept saying and doing all sorts of things while hewas sick that would make you think he was in touch with something like a sixth sense, like and internal intuition something spiritual. Lori also gives King credit for the fact that she went back to school and got her high school diploma. King had always
encouraged her to go back because she had dropped out of high school when she was sixteen years of age.She wanted to become a vet tech, and she would need to further her education to become certified. After King died she remembered how he had wanted her to get her diploma, and she went back to school and did just that. It was difficult for her but she did it because she remembered how much King wanted her to do that, and she did it not only for herself but also for King. Lori also told me after she got her diploma, she was reading the paper thinking about what kind of work she needed to look for and the paper dropped from her lap and unfolded to the jobs page. When she picked it up to look at the paper there right in her line of vision
was a job posted for an animal clinic. She feels like it was King connecting like a spirit guide leading her to this job. Yes, she applied and was hired.
